[Features]
John Faddis has used Silky models continuously since 1970. This first-generation signature model supported his "superhuman high tones" during his prime.
When it comes to Faddis's high tones, it's not just about sheer height—it's a powerful, penetrating sound that combines thickness, richness, and volume. Even knowing it's utterly unattainable for most players, this model still makes you think, "Maybe with this one...?" It possesses a magical allure that tugs at the player's heartstrings.
The core of its design is the slightly slender 450'M bore valve casing. Combined with features like a pull-knob-free second slide, and a round crook-style tuning slide that eliminates the water key, this structure thoroughly minimizes unnecessary resistance, ensuring airflow is as smooth as possible.Adding a heavy bottom cap and a tuning bell with an adjustable soundpost creates a "compressed resonance" where the core of the sound is tightly condensed.
At first glance, it might seem like a "monster machine" designed exclusively for Fadis, but it actually offers remarkable playability. A major appeal is how effectively utilizing this model's moderate resistance allows for efficient blowing, yielding a sharp, brilliant sound.
"Fadis is just too much for me. But playing this model, I feel like I can glimpse sounds I've never produced before." This masterpiece from Silky brings that "dream" just a little closer to reality.
