Sago New Material Guitars, a domestic workshop in Hyogo, Japan, utilizes various woods and offers a wide lineup of models.
The original Ove model, conceived as an "evolved jazz bass," is one of Sago's core models.
It respects jazz basses while pursuing unique aesthetics, playability, and sound.
This instrument is a standard JB type featuring an alder body, rosewood fingerboard, and JJ-type pickups.
It sports a slightly rare pickguard type that covers the controls.
The controls consist of Volume, PU Balancer, Tone, and a (Parallel/Series) switch.
When in series mode, the PU Balancer is canceled, leaving only Volume and Tone active.
The feel when holding it doesn't differ much from a traditional Jazz Bass, but the body cut and narrower neck provide outstanding playability in the higher positions.
The sound, while passive, leans modern with a clear, well-defined tone.
Furthermore, when switched to series connection via the mini switch, it can function as a boost. It adds body while maintaining solid contour, delivering deeper mid-to-low frequencies, making it excellent for tonal switching!
