This is a TELEFUNKEN BC108C specification FUZZ FACE from the late 1960s to early 1970s!
The Fuzz Face, introduced in late 1966, initially used the PNP germanium transistor NKT275. However, by the late 1960s, the specification changed to the NPN silicon transistor BC108 (other transistors like BC109 and BC183L have also been confirmed). Additionally, several variations exist in the enclosure and color. In 1968, following the merger between Arbiter and Dallas Music (known for the Rangemaster), it became branded as "DALLAS-ARBITER・ENGLAND". It was then acquired by CBS in 1975. This unit is believed to be a late 1960s to early 1970s model bearing the "DALLAS-ARBITER・ENGLAND" name. Unfortunately, this unit has been modified with later-era TELEFUNKEN BC108C transistors. Compared to the NKT275 specification, the silicon transistor BC108 offers greater gain headroom. Gradually increasing the FUZZ control yields a remarkably thick and powerful sound. Despite the transistor replacement, this unit possesses a superb sound quality that rivals authentic originals.
