YAMAKI / 1970s F-160
YAMAKI was founded in Suwa City, Nagano Prefecture in 1967. During the 1970s folk boom, it enjoyed popularity rivaling YAMAHA and Morris, and is still highly regarded today as "Japan Vintage."
The first thing that catches your eye on this instrument is the vertical logo, reserved only for the top models of the era.
This design, which instantly conveys its "class," is more than just aesthetics; it represents the manufacturer's pride.
The premium feel exuded by the hexagon inlay and binding also tells the story of this being a special instrument.
The sound features the quick attack from the spruce top and the deep resonance from the rosewood back and sides.
The midrange has a solid core; the moment you strum a chord, the sound projects forward while simultaneously creating a sense of expansion.
Regarding condition, there is a warp (dent) visible on the top.
As a result, the string height on the 6th string side feels lower, but it does not hinder playability and is perfectly usable.
After arrival at our shop, the nut and saddle were replaced, ensuring the instrument's precision is fully restored.

- There is a warp (dent) from the sound hole on the body top to the bridge. Consequently, the string height on the 6th string side is lower.
