Martin / 1975 D-18
"The sound still feels stiff"
While drawn to the beauty of the New guitar, I sense its characteristic sharp edges.
Or perhaps you seek that next level of expression from the one you've played for years.
Haven't you had that experience?
I feel the same way.
With that in mind, I've compared countless brands and numerous guitars.
Among them, there are moments when I feel the D-18 represents a pinnacle of perfection among mahogany acoustic guitars.
While individual instruments from the 1970s vary in condition, they possess a "depth of sound" absent in current models.

This instrument is a 1975 D-18.
It features a spruce top, mahogany sides and back, and a rosewood fingerboard and bridge.
The amber-toned top and beautiful checking exude vintage character.

Its sound embodies the qualities one seeks in a D-18.
At the moment of picking, the spruce's clarity rises distinctly, enveloped by the mahogany's rich mid-to-low range.
It's never flashy, yet it sparkles and sounds crystal clear.
It possesses a solid sound that the New simply cannot match.

The string height at the 12th fret is set to standard levels: 2.6mm on the 6th string side and 2.0mm on the 1st string side.
Each time you play, the sound permeates your body, settling deep within your heart before you know it, never to leave.
The case lid has a slight warp, and one latch does not close.
This does not affect the guitar's storage, but please note this beforehand.

For those seeking the coolness and sonic depth of a vintage guitar.
This D-18 is a guitar born just for you.
