An authentic heavy-relic model that has been elevated to a real heavy-relic by further playing the model that has undergone a reliquary process.
The idea for the Custom Shop was conceived in late 1984, and in March 1985, the Custom Shop was transferred from CBS to a new organization, which brought in Michael Stevens and John Page in 1986. This was the official start of the Custom Shop. Now, nearly 40 years later, the company continues to provide musicians with instruments that live up to the Dream Factory name with original ideas, great taste, the best materials, and a wealth of experience.
This 2021 Fender Custom Shop 1962 Stratocaster Relic is a reproduction of a Stratocaster with slabboard from mid-1962. The maple neck is quarter-sawn maple neck with a strong and stable neck condition. The fingerboard is 9.5" radius, which is flatter than the vintage type and can accommodate a lower string height. Furthermore, high-quality rosewood is used. This Stratocaster is made of carefully selected woods and finished slowly and carefully with excellent techniques, sparing no time and cost. The original model has been reliced, but the scratches from actual playing have been added to give it a more dignified appearance.
