The "Advanced Jumbo," born in 1936 and manufactured for an extremely short period until around 1940. Originally the successor model to the "Jumbo" released in 1934, it features a 16-inch round-shoulder jumbo body with a spruce top and rosewood sides/back, paired with a 25.5-inch scale neck.
This particular instrument was manufactured in 2002. It features a natural finish, not found on the original. Combined with the tiger-stripe small pickguard, it achieves a vintage-like look reminiscent of the J-35.
Perhaps designed with rosewood's acoustic properties in mind, comparing it to round-shoulder models from the same period reveals thicker bracing on the body back.
The attack is open and spacious, with rich volume. True to its rosewood construction, it delivers a dense, long sustain throughout the midrange and beyond, resulting in an exceptionally cool sound. Hearing someone say, "That's a Gibson with a beautiful tone," might just be a pleasure.
[Condition] There is a strap pin attachment on the neck heel and some minor scratches, but considering it's over 20 years old, it's in very good condition.
Additionally, the neck and wood components have been inspected and adjusted by an acoustic guitar specialist, confirming all areas are in excellent condition. The neck is straightened with no buzz or dead spots, and the 12th fret string height is optimally set at approximately 2.5mm for the 6th string and 2.0mm for the 1st string. The saddle relief is roughly 3mm-4mm.
