Have you ever felt like this: "I've played solid-body and full-hollow-body guitars, but I just can't find my next one"?
Since its debut in 1958, the ES-335 has been the benchmark for semi-hollow body guitars, continually chosen by countless musicians. The fact that legendary players like Larry Carlton, Eric Clapton, and Lee Ritenour all arrived at this model isn't just history; it's proof there's a reason it gets chosen.
The Gibson ES-335 is an instrument that lets you experience its charm very directly. Its 57 Classic pickups deliver power without excessive output, yet without feeling lacking, faithfully translating picking dynamics and touch variations into sound. The slimmer, 60s-style neck offers high playability, designed to minimize unnecessary stress even during extended playing sessions.
When you actually play it, it maintains that characteristic semi-hollow body airiness while delivering a solid attack and clear high frequencies. Clean tones offer a three-dimensional chord presence, and when distorted, the sound image remains intact, providing a pleasant response that pushes your phrases forward. It's a sound that naturally dispels the preconception that "solid-body guitars are difficult to handle."
If you're starting to think, "Maybe it's time for a semi-hollow body," now might be the moment. The ES-335 truly delivers on the nuanced sound and playing feel that only experience can reveal. As the guitar you arrive at after much deliberation, it offers compelling reasons for a long-lasting relationship.
