Founder Charlie Kaman has an unusual background as an aircraft engineer, and he poured his skills and ideas into his guitars.
Instead of a traditional wooden body, the round back structure uses a unique glass fiber resin called "Lyracord," offering a new solution that combines durability and acoustic properties.
This Legend 1717, made in 1998, is a watch that is packed with that technology.
The top is made of solid spruce, and the sound becomes more mellow and deep with age.
Combining lightness and core strength, it produces clear overtones in arpeggios and powerful, clear chords in strokes.
The side back is Ovation's unique Lyracord round back.
With rigidity not found in wood and high reverberation efficiency, feedback is suppressed even when the volume is turned up, ensuring stable sound in any venue.
A major feature of this unit is the inclusion of the OP-X preamp.
The OP-X delivers clear, low-noise output and a wide dynamic range.
The equalizer at your fingertips lets you instantly adjust the tone and create your own sound in any venue.

The OP-X offers the clear sound and tone of the wood that is unique to the 90s, which cannot be experienced with current models.
Furthermore, the assembly and finishing done in American factories is an appeal unique to this era.

Upon arrival, we perform internal cleaning, replace consumables as needed, and carry out necessary repairs and maintenance. Should the instrument malfunction or cease to produce sound during normal use, we will address the issue free of charge.
