Luxury model conceived by Martin IV
Martin / 1997 CEO-1R "CEO's Choice"
CEO's Choice model produced and sold in a limited edition of 191 pieces in 1997.
It was designed by Chris Martin IV, who was the CEO at that time.
The year 1997 was a time when the Limited Edition series, including the OM-42PS Paul Simon and 000-45JB Jimmie Rodgers, were well established as player's models following the Eric Clapton model, which originated from Unplugged.
Many people may have felt the rekindling of the acoustic guitar boom firsthand.
Turning to this instrument, it is based on the dreadnought style,
The body top is made of spruce, side back of rosewood, mahogany neck, and fingerboard and bridge are made of ebony.
The fingerboard and bridge are decorated with Avalon rings, which give it a shiny, luxurious look, and open hexagon inlays, which are hollowed out, as seen on Aura and other models.
Although the purfling is herringbone, the binding is black, and the peg knobs are also made of ebony.
The black color unification is stylish and very cool.
It is a step away from the Style-28 and has been sublimated into a luxurious model.
The sound is very deep and resonant, but it is not heavy and has a light startup, and it does not have the same sparkle as the 40s, so it has a nice, fresh, and elegant tone. This guitar is recommended for those who like high-end guitars.
