SG3000 in black metallic color!
Based on the SG175 and with input from numerous artists, the SG2000 was released in 1976 as the flagship model of the then YAMAHA SG lineup.
In the 80's, YAMAHA began to develop a new flagship model that was ideal for the company. Thus, the SG3000 was introduced in 1982.
The SG3000 continued to use the T-cross one-piece neck that was used on the SG2000, and the basic wood construction was the same as that of the previous SG, but there were new changes in the parts, including the elimination of the sustain block, a newly developed narrow bridge, and the use of Spinex pickups. The narrow bridge has been replaced by a newly developed narrow bridge without a sustain block, and a Spinex pickup has been adopted as the pickup. The narrow bridge has a slimmer appearance than the conventional wide travel bridge, and the distance between the bridge and the tailpiece is narrower than that of the SG2000.
The newly developed Spinex pickup is the first in the world where YAMAHA has succeeded in practical application of Spinex magnets and Western whiteBassThe newly developed Spinex pickup is the first PU in the world to use a Spinex magnet and a Western-white plate, which allows for delicate expression while enhancing treble characteristics.
It is also equipped with the bi-sound that was used in the SG1000, making it truly a model worthy of the flagship SG model.
While it has the straight tone of the SG2000, it also has a unique sound with a mid component that is somewhat like that of a Les Paul!
