Sorrowful sound, perfect for folk songs.
Martin / 1977 D-35
Martin's first D-35 with a three-piece back body was introduced in 1966.
The three-piece back has a lower bass than the D-28 and a brighter sound.
The D-35's bracing is also lower in height than that of the D-28, giving it a more sensitive and responsive sound.
Because of this, the D-35 was useful as a backing instrument for players who play and sing, and it was also very popular among many folk singers in the Japanese folk scene of the 1970s.
This instrument was made in 1977 with square-rod specifications, and was born during the golden age of folk popularity.
The pegs are made by Schaller.
According to Martin Guitars A History, the pegs were changed from Grover to Schaller starting in 1979, but the D-35 has been equipped with Schaller pegs since before that time. is very rare even as the first period. It features black washers and the Schaller logo on the gear cover, and this design is unique to the early period since it will change to the Martin logo in 1981.
The tone, which we are interested in, has a moderately thick sound with sparkling and swelling overtones that come on board.
If you have not yet played a D-35, why not compare it with the D-28 and choose one?
