1970-1972 Gibson Les Paul Custom, with a strong low-mid presence produced by the weighty pancake mahogany body.
The Les Paul Custom was introduced in 1954 as a high-end model of Les Paul. In 1957, the PAF humbucking pickups, which are commonly known as "PAF" pickups, were introduced, and it is no exaggeration to say that they defined the sound of Gibson's later models. The Les Paul Custom was also equipped with humbucking pickups, a minor change to the style that is still familiar today.
The 1970-1972 Les Paul Custom features a narrow 3-piece mahogany neck with a volute near the back of the nut to reinforce the neck, and a pancake body with maple between the mahogany. The scratches and signs of use from actual use give it a dignified and dignified appearance that is different from just being cool. The vintage Les Paul Custom sound is produced by the tight mahogany body and the original Steckard-numbered PAFs, which create a mellow sound with multiple overtones. Hard rock guys like myself will surely be intoxicated by the distorted sound.
