Early model with single coil PU!
Fender's first solid-body electric bass, the Precision Bass, was introduced in 1951. 1968 saw the introduction of the Telecaster Bass, Fender's first reissue model, with almost the same specifications as the original 1951 Precision Bass.
In 1972, it was modified to include a three-point neck plate and headstock adjustment, a bullet truss rod, and humbucking pickups mounted closer to the neck position.
This model with single coil PU was produced for only about 4 years from 1968 to 1972.
The neck date is 1969, pickup date is 1971, and pot date is 1966, which also fits with the serial number period.
Since this is a reproduction of an original Precision bass, the body is contourless
The bridge has a two-frame design with saddles shared by the 3 and 4 strings and the 1 and 2 strings.
It is not a bass that can pursue modern playability, but it has a sound and atmosphere that only this bass can produce.
The thickness of the neck seems to be directly reflected in the sound, and it is hard to believe that it is a single single coil. It has a unique air that is different from both precision basses and jazz basses.
The fact that the 3rd and 4th strings, which tend to sound thinner, can also be made fat and firm is also a big appeal of this bass.
The neck has been reset, the frets have been fretted, and the nut has been replaced at our store. It still has a lot of potential to be an active player!
