Martin / 1967 D-28
"A legendary instrument in folk music history"
Born in 1931 and named after the British battleship "Dreadnought," the D-28.
Over 90 years have passed, yet this legendary instrument, undergoing various minor changes, remains used by countless artists today.
Martin popularized the Dreadnought size as the quintessential folk guitar.
Its powerful sound, born from its size, has been cherished in countless folk songs.

The "28" in the model number signifies rosewood sides and back, traditionally made from Brazilian rosewood.
Due to wood scarcity, it switched to Indian rosewood in the late 1960s.
This particular guitar features the pre-change Brazilian rosewood, delivering a sweet yet clear tone.

The rounded headstock features Grover tuners (commonly called "milk bottles").
Compared to open-back tuners, the weight on the headstock may contribute to its thicker sound.

The volute-shaped neck features a gentle V-shape, providing easy access to chords. This design has made it a staple for folk music centered around strumming.
Furthermore, 1967 marked the transition from T-bar rods to square rods. This particular instrument is a rare pre-transition T-bar rod model.

The sound produced by this instrument, crafted from Sitka spruce and Brazilian rosewood, will surely make you think, "That's the sound I heard in that folk song!"
Its bright, rounded, and mild sound makes strumming a joy. Amplified by the dreadnought-sized body, it wraps itself in rich harmonics, captivating both player and listener.
Why not experience the sound you've always dreamed of?
