This 1966 Jazz BassBass is an early CBS model, its paddle-style tuning pegs evoking the era.This model strongly retains the ethos of "Leo Fender," rooted in handcrafting. Sonically, it remains unchanged from earlier versions, producing a rich sound with warmth and presence within its fullness. A key feature is the roundboard, where the fretboard and neck joint is contoured to match the fretboard's radius, contributing to its well-balanced tone across the entire frequency range.
This 1966 Jazz Bass is from the early CBS era, featuring paddle pegs, neck binding, and dot position markers. Production shifted to block position markers in late 1966, making this specification extremely short-lived.
While 1966 Jazz Basses are known for a relatively modern sound within the 60s era, this particular instrument has a comparatively thicker tone with overall richness and warmth.
The frets and nut have been replaced, ensuring excellent playability.
