Sophisticated vintage adjustable sound
Gibson / 1966 J-50
Narrow neck J-50 is now in stock.
Although it has a narrow nut width of 40mm, this J-50 has a round and moderately thick neck.
The thickness also increases in the high position.
Both shapes are characteristic of 1966 and are very easy to grip,
They are also popular among those who often use the so-called Western grip, in which the thumb is used to hold down chords.
This is one that even those who shy away from narrow necks should give a try.
The J-45 was used by Motohiro Hata in 1966, and the J-45 was also used by the same year,
In recent years, this 1966 J-50 has been reissued as a limited edition in Japan.
Another feature is the Hakaranda bridge with ceramic saddle.
It is generally described as having a crisp, jerky sound,
The bass component is clear, and the sound nuance is like a violent sound.
This particular guitar had the same sound impression when it arrived at our store, but we have further fine-tuned it to give it a rich and fresh tone for a late 60's Gibson.
In a sense, this guitar does not sound like a Gibson, but even with chord tones, the sound is cohesive and not disjointed, and there is little fading.
I am sure you will hear the surprise not only from the player but also from the listeners who are witnessing it.
