Beautiful condition that it is hard to believe that it is almost 60 years old.
Gibson / 1965 Hummingbird Natural
A beautiful and timeless looking Hummingbird.
The Hummingbird was Gibson's first square shoulder model, released in 1960.
The innovative looks and dynamic sound of the Hummingbird were overwhelmingly popular with musicians at the time, and led to the release of the square-shouldered Dove in 1962.
The one we have in stock this time is made in 1965.
This is the last year for regular neck and single tone pickguard. This is the same specs as this one.
The condition of this guitar is very good.
Although there are weather checks, minor scratches, and some color tanning, it is hard to believe that it is almost 60 years old.
There are no cracks or crack repairs, indicating that it has been carefully cared for and passed down through the years.
There are actually some pieces in beautiful condition that sound far from vintage, but this one sounds superb.
It produces a bright, gorgeous, dry vintage tone.
The neck and wood have been inspected and tuned by a professional acoustic guitar craftsman and are in excellent condition in all areas.
The neck has been straightened and tuned with no chatter or jamming, and the strings are set at the 12th fret at an optimal height of 2.5mm on the 6th string and 2.0mm on the 1st string.
The crispness of the adjustable saddle, the attack and bright texture characteristic of the square shoulder. This is a true example of a Hummingbird.
