Gibson / 1964 TG-25 tenor
Four-string guitar with B-25 body.
The 1964 TG-25 was made by Gibson using a B-25 body from the same period.BassThe TG-25 is a 4-string tenor model built on a B-25 body from the same period.
The B-25 made in 1964 featured an adjustable bridge, a plastic bridge, and a ceramic saddle, but the TG-25 has a rosewood saddle bridge, but the other specifications are the same as the B-25.
What is unique is the headstock designed for Tenor.
The head, with Gibson's silkscreen on it, is about 16 cm (1 cm) shorter than the B-25's headstock, which is about 17 cm (1 cm) shorter than the Tenor headstock.
The neck is also moderately thick, with a thin neck grip of about 30 mm nut width, strongly reminiscent of Tenor guitars.
Tuning is often played in A-D-G-C from the fourth string, as on the tenor banjo and viola, but it can also be played in Chicago tuning (tuning that omits the sixth and fifth strings on a six-string guitar) D-G-B-E.
Therefore, even guitar players can play it without any discomfort.
The red tortoiseshell-patterned large pickguard has been removed, but there are no cracks and the condition of this guitar is excellent.
