Very fine vintage with non-cracked/original finish! Round type Country Western in stock!
Gibson / 1961 Country Western
Round shoulder, straight saddle, 17 degree head angle, Hakaranda fretboard & bridge, wide neck, and "Inatai" vintage sound is a must-see.
The Southern Jumbo, released in 1942, is a deluxe version of the J-45 with added decorations. In '54, a natural version was added, and in '56, this natural version was named "Country Western (Jumbo). Around '60, it was temporarily renamed "Southern Jumbo Natural," but was soon reverted to "Country Western" again. After the release of the Hummingbird in 1960, both the SJ and CW models changed to a square shoulder shape in 1962, and the pickguard was also changed to the same type as the Hummingbird.
The square shoulder type is famous as Sheryl Crow's favorite model.
The one we have in stock this time was made in 1961, the last period of the round-shoulder type.
The original finish has changed its color to a moderate candy color by aging, and the calm checkering has a very sexy appearance.
Beautiful quarter-sawn Honduran mahogany is used for the body sides and back, and you will be enchanted by its expression.
The head angle is 17 degrees and the nut width is 43mm.
The original fixed type bridge is made of Hakaranda. The strong lines on the bridge are very cool.
The saddle and nut have been replaced, but all other parts are original.
The look of the instrument is very promising.
And the sound is also the best.
The sound is also top-notch, with a juicy mahogany sound in the mid and high ranges with a firm bass tone.
It is a gem that is both pleasing to the eye and to the ear.
The case features a green inner lining, and although there is no logo mark, it captures the appearance of the case that came with the instrument at that time. It is very atmospheric and cool.
