Gibson / 1940 SJ-100
"Modest decoration but powerful sound"
The SJ-100 was produced for only three years, from 1931 to 1941.
The body size is the same as the SJ-200, but it has been released as a product with less decorative details.
The main features are the script logo, dot position marks, firestripe pickguard, and understated openwork mustache bridge.
This item is the original SJ-100 produced in 1940.
The body is made of Adirondack spruce and mahogany, and the neck is made of beautifully grained curly maple.
The decoration is modest, but the sound is clear and crisp, with a powerful bass that resonates deeply.
The bridge, bridge plate, and bridge pins have been replaced, and the body has been over-lacquered, but the weather checking throughout suggests that it has been used for various performances for over 80 years.
