This is one of the few rare ones found in the world.

Among the many Ludwig's famous snare drums, the heavy brass shell snare drums from 1910s to 1930s are regarded as the best in terms of sound character, looks, and shell construction. The snare drum introduced here is one of the rarest of them all, the 'Engraved gold-plated snare drum'. This is a very special model that has been fully plated with gold. The shell is Engraved Shell (shell with engraving) and the size is 14' x 5'. The lugs are 10 lugs and the strainer is equipped with Super Sensitive (* From this time onward, the all-over hit specification was called Super Sensitive). The head is made of cowhide leather.
