This is Sano, the head coach of the TCGAKKI Baseball Club (TCB).
This may come as a surprise, but
we held a baseball tournament on Wednesday, August 2!! ⚾️
We have some veteran staff members who are constantly worried about their annual physical exam results, and even our younger employees tend to take the elevator at the slightest opportunity—a behavior that’s become all too common. So, as a solution to these issues, and with the goal of somehow addressing our general lack of exercise… well, jokes aside, the event was held as part of our in-house recreational activities so that even those with no experience could easily enjoy some exercise.
We borrowed “Nishitoyama Park Baseball Field,” located an 8-minute walk from TCGAKKI. It’s a wonderful field with artificial turf and excellent maintenance!!
So, while the level of play was below even amateur baseball…
We divided all staff from TCGAKKI, Advance Guitars, and Okubo Gakki into two teams and played under special rules.
The “Okubo Hernians,” captained by Mizumoto, store manager of Okubo Gakki, clashed with “TCGAKKI,” captained by Matsui, store manager of TCGAKKI!!!
Team rosters were determined through a draft meeting led by both captains.

And during the pre-game national anthem, the Tomita/Mochizuki duo recreated the performance of the U.S. national anthem—just like when Metallica played at an MLB game!

We’ll also do the Radio Calisthenics (Set 1) properly to get ready.
The game went seven innings. It was a back-and-forth battle of pitching, hitting, running, and fielding—with a mix of bloopers and spectacular plays!
In the end, “TC Gakuen” narrowly defeated the “Okubo Hernians” 8–6!
Captain Matsui of the winning team, “TC Gakuen,” is presented with the trophy.
The MVP award goes to Tomita of “TC Gakuen,” who showed us a soul-stirring headfirst slide!
The Fighting Spirit Award went to Oda of the “Okubo Hernians,” who stood out for his hustle plays, such as volunteering to be a pinch runner!
Even though it was under the blazing sun, I think the best part was that everyone stayed well-hydrated, took proper heat precautions, and made it all the way through the 7th inning without a single person dropping out!
