Martin / 2017 HD-28
"Pre-war Martin revived for the modern era"
The D-28 produced in the 1930s is known as the "pre-war" model in Martin's history and has captivated many fans.
In fact, the appreciation for pre-war models as we know it today began around the 1970s.
Martin began producing the HD-28, a reissue of the pre-war D-28, in 1976.
As indicated by the HD in the model name (H=Herringbone, D=Dreadnought), the HD-28 features herringbone purfling, whereas the standard D-28 has multi-stripe purfling.
The V-shaped pattern resembles a herring's bones, hence the name "herringbone."
Although specifications changed to Howard Shifted Bracing after 2017, this model retains the pre-change specifications.
Consequently, it features deep bass and lively highs.
Experience the sound of this popular pre-war reissue model for yourself.
