The Precision Bass was born in 1951 as the world's first solid electric bass. Needless to say, without this bass, there would be no music to this day. The Precision Bass has undergone slight changes in use over the years since its introduction.
This model, made in 1975, has an ash body and maple fingerboard. It has been refretted, and parts such as pickups and pots are original.
Ash body in the 70's is considered to be heavy, but this one weighs only 3.9 kg, which is a super light weight! Of course, the sound is also affected. It has the tight lows typical of an ash body and the fast rise of a maple fretboard, but the midrange is broad and expansive. If you are interested in vintage ash-body guitars, but have been put off by their weight, this is one you should definitely try!
