This is a mint condition 'Ludwigold' that has been kept in our collection.

This heavy brass snare from the 1910s to 1930s is regarded as one of Ludwig's finest in terms of character, looks, and shell construction. It is owned by international recording studios and attracts musicians from all over the world.

This one was given to us by a vintage drum collector. (We heard a very interesting story that he could negotiate to sell it to us only when he was recognized as a friend after going to overseas many times). Therefore, this item has been in our warehouse as a treasured collection for a long time.

It is dated approximately from 1927 to 1930. It is commonly known as a Ludwigold. Ludwigold' means a gem with a special gold coating on the brass (like a Les Paul gold top on an electric guitar! ). The size is 14' x 5' with 10 lugs. The strainer is equipped with Super Strainer (later Super Sensitive). The head is made of real cowhide (the cowhide head is not a ready-made head, but was made for each snare drum). Also included is a hard case from the period.
