話題の”青い"プランジャーミュート、新大久保に上陸!

KubokanThis is Nakamura!

This time"Innovative"plunger mute.

? "Oh, the plunger. I use the one from the toilet."

Yes, yes, this is it.

To be honest, this is all I need for the bare minimum.

However, have you ever felt like this is not enough?

Difficulty in finding the right pitch

The sound is turned upside down when closed.

Difficulty in producing low notes.

Lacks fullness of sound

Here is a mute that solves these problems to a surprising degree.

Hirschman "KR Indigo" mute

The "KR Indigo" series plunger mute was jointly produced by Kenny Rampton, known as the trumpet player of "Jazz at Lincoln Center," and Hirschman, an American mute manufacturer.

The large blue silhouette has a distinctive appearance with a one-cent coin handle. This is the "Kenny Penny" system, which works in conjunction with the coin inside the plunger to switch between open and closed positions. This means that you can adjust the blowing feel and sound to your liking with a single coin.

There are two types for trumpet: MAX and Standard.

The MAX has a larger outer diameter of 130mm, but it is suitable for general backs and Yamaha, and is a model that can fully demonstrate the thick, excellent sound and power of this mute.

The Standard has an outer diameter of 122mm, and is recommended for those seeking a traditional plunger sound, or for those with small hands who want something smaller.

In fact, both models are made to be easy to hold, so it is better to choose according to your tone preference.

There is one type of BIG BLUE for trombone.(There is another type for trombone other than the KR Indigo series, but I won't go into it here.)

Like the trumpet, the BIG BLUE trombone produces accurate pitch and a thick, powerful sound. Especially in plunger playing, which tends to be unstable,The pitch does not easily change, and the sound is stable when closed."This is the most attractive feature of the plunger.

This model comes in only one size. From tenor to bass trombone, one type is made for optimal results.

This may sound a bit geeky, but all models have a large volume in the cup, so it is possible to use a regular straight mute without using a pixie mute.

loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Again, by having this mute in your hand, you canStable pitch, easy blowing, excellent soundand excellent sound.

It is up to you to decide whether you want a "plunger in the toilet" or a "real plunger!

Try the mute that has been used by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, the Duke Ellington Orchestra, the Count Basie Orchestra, and many others.
