Fender Japan JV Series

　The historic first lineup of the JV series, released in 1982 as the “VINTAGE SERIES,” consisted of 14 models in total: 8 electric guitars and 6 electric basses.

　Among these, the high-end models—ST57-115, ST62-115, TL'52-95, PB'57-95, PB'62-98, and JB'62-115—feature U.S.-made parts (pickups, pickguards, and controls) and a lacquer finish.The mid-range Stratocasters, the ST57-85 and ST62-85, feature USA-made pickups and a lacquer finish. Although the Stratocasters ST57-65 and ST62-65 are lower-end models, they also feature USA-made pickups.

Among these, the high-end models—the ST57-115, ST62-115, TL'52-95, PB'57-95, PB'62-98, and JB'62-115—feature USA-made parts (pickups, pickguards, and controls) and a lacquer finish.The mid-range Stratocasters, the ST57-85 and ST62-85, feature USA-made pickups and a lacquer finish. The Stratocasters ST57-65 and ST62-65, although lower-end models, feature USA-made pickups.

The "JV serial" is a serial number consisting of the letters "JV" followed by a 5-digit number. The phrase "Made In Japan" is inscribed below the headstock logo, which is a distinctive visual feature unique to this period. However, this was apparently unpopular, and the inscription was later moved to the side of the neck joint.

Additionally, if you look at the neck pocket, you can see stamp marks indicating the grade: Ⓐ, Ⓑ, and Ⓒ.
