Fender Japan JV Series

 

The commemorative first lineup of the JV serial period, released in 1982 as the "VINTAGE SERIES," comprised a total of 14 models: 8 electric guitars and 6 electric basses.

The higher-end models ST57-115, ST62-115, TL'52-95, PB'57-95, PB'62-98, and JB'62-115 feature USA-made parts (pickups, pickguard, controls) and a lacquer finish.The mid-range Stratocasters ST57-85 and ST62-85 feature USA-made pickups and a lacquer finish. The lower-end Stratocasters ST57-65 and ST62-65 also incorporate USA pickups.

 

The higher-end models ST57-115, ST62-115, TL'52-95, PB'57-95, PB'62-98, and JB'62-115 feature USA-made parts (pickups, pickguard, controls) and a lacquer finish.The mid-range Stratocasters ST57-85 and ST62-85 feature USA-made pickups and a lacquer finish. The lower-end Stratocasters ST57-65 and ST62-65 also incorporate USA pickups.

The "JV Serial" consists of the letters "JV" followed by a five-digit number. "Made In Japan" was originally printed below the headstock logo, a distinctive visual feature unique to this period. However, this proved unpopular and was later moved to the side of the neck joint.

Additionally, looking at the neck pocket, you can see stamp marks on the pockets labeled Ⓐ, Ⓑ, and Ⓒ according to grade.

The "115" sticker indicating the then-list price of 115,000 yen remains firmly attached to the back of the head.

The dense alder body tightens the sound, producing a well-balanced, excellent vintage tone that extends beyond the midrange.
This is a beautiful piece with no paint burn or noticeable damage, and it has a great sound. It's recommended not only for collectors but also for players.

Fiesta Red is a striking color.
Though the fingerboard shows slight darkening, there are almost no noticeable scratches—a miraculous mint condition!
It features the USA pickups commonly seen in early models, known as Red Bobbin pickups.

'82 ST62-85 / FRD (JV12068)

The ST62-85 is a mid-range model featuring a '62-style rosewood fingerboard with a slab-style construction.
Features an original USA-made Red Bobbin pickup. It also boasts a luxurious lacquer finish.
Minimal paint burn, with nut replacement and fret leveling already completed, resulting in excellent playability.
Vibrant colors are sure to catch the eye on stage!

The paintwork has sustained relatively little damage and remains in good condition.
Like the original 52 Telecaster, it features a Bakelite pickguard, and each screw is a Phillips-head screw.
This moderately tanned blonde color is a recommended choice for players.
