This time, I'd like to introduce a new item.
Trumpet players, how do you usually practice?
Renting studios or karaoke rooms, playing by rivers or in parks, practicing at home without issues/having a soundproof room, using practice mutes... and so on.
Personally, I often rent karaoke rooms to practice, but sometimes you just don't feel like going out... right?
After all, we're only human.
When practicing at home, most people will need to figure out ways to muffle the sound. A soundproof room would be ideal, but it takes up space and costs hundreds of thousands of yen at the low end. A million yen is the norm.
Fortunately, for trumpet players, practice mutes , which are incredibly useful. However, sound reduction comes at a cost. No matter how excellent the mute, it makes the playing feel a bit muffled . Trumpet players know that feeling—when you practice your basics but it just doesn't feel like you're getting anywhere.
I've gone on a bit, but the mute I'm introducing today is "The Smallest Soundproof Room" and significantly improves upon the shortcomings of conventional practice mutes.

Despite its large appearance, it's surprisingly lightweight and allows for natural playing feel during practice. I believe this product will shake up the mute industry, which has long assumed a trade-off between "open playing feel" and "sound dampening performance."

The typical volume of a trumpet is said to be around 100-120dB. Using this product can reduce the volume to approximately 75-85dB. Using a standard practice mute typically reduces it to around 70-80dB, so this is only slightly louder.
Even so, with this playing feel, you'll likely think, "Going out is a hassle, but maybe I'll practice a bit at home." After all, what's the point of having a practice mute if it doesn't make you want to practice?
