Martin Late 1960's D-28フェア!!〜Tバーロッド vs スクエアロッド〜 - TC楽器 - TCGAKKI

Hello.

I’m Inoue from the Acoustic Guitar Department at TCGAKKI.

There’s only one month left in 2022.
The Acoustic Floor has prepared a major event fitting to wrap up the year.

We’ve held various sales events this year featuring Showa-era Headway, Gibson small-body models, Ovation, and more, but for our finale, we’ve chosen “Martin’s iconic D-28”!

And it’s a “late 1960s vintage” model!

As Martin entered the 1960s, the company made many moves in line with acoustic guitar trends, such as establishing a new factory, introducing the D-35, and reviving the D-45.
Focusing on the guitar itself, the shape of the headstock changed, the bridge saddle was switched from long to short, and there were various other minor specification changes.Just as was the case with Gibson, this was a fascinating era of rapid change that was irresistible to acoustic guitar enthusiasts.

One of the most significant specification changes was the neck reinforcement (truss rod).
The Martin D-28 had basically used a T-shaped steel T-bar rod since the pre-war 1930s, but in 1967, it was changed to a square tubular steel rod.
One of the fascinating aspects of musical instruments is how the choice of materials can alter the way sound resonates, and I feel that the truss rod is a major contributing factor.

In fact, around 1985, Martin changed its standard specification from square rods to adjustable rods, which allow for neck adjustment. However, in the 1990s, limited-edition models featuring square rods were reintroduced, and the high-end “Authentic” series sometimes uses T-bar rods as well—so it’s clear that both types enjoy enduring popularity even today.

This time, we’re featuring a D-28 from the late 1960s—a transitional period for truss rod design.

There are seven of them.

Another major appeal of this era is that rosewood is still being used.
We invite you to take this opportunity to experience the unique characteristics of each guitar—from its sound to its appearance—and choose the one that suits your taste and will become a lifelong companion.

☆We’re currently offering high-value buybacks for acoustic guitars☆

We’ll do our best to offer an even better price if you’re trading in an instrument
