The Yamaha SG has been crafted as a Japanese-made original guitar since the 1960s.

Created under the strict mandate that “everything must be original,” this iconic model remains a beloved classic among renowned artists to this day!

This time, we’ve managed to secure several limited-edition color and signature models from the YAMAHA SG lineup!!

And I, Nihei, had the pleasure of writing a special feature column for “Instrument Magazine” focusing on these very models!

I’ve always been a fan of the Yamaha SG, but by handling and researching these limited-edition colors and signature models, I was able to truly appreciate the dedication of Yamaha’s employees back then and the history of the SG—a guitar that defined an era!

Personally, I’d especially like you to take a closer look at this SG2000 Deep Purple.

I first became interested in the Yamaha SG when I saw Red Hot Chili Peppers’ John Frusciante holding this SG2000 Deep Purple on the cover of the May 2014 issue of Guitar Magazine!

That’s why I still remember how incredibly excited I was the first time I saw the DP!
