Introducing a completely new mouthpiece with unique tone and characteristics!
LOTUS Turbo Wood
It is a wood that is used to produce a warmer, sweeter sound when blown softly.
If you blow louder, it sounds louder and meaner.
The TurboWood mouthpiece has a larger capacity for loud playing than the same mouthpiece in Brass, Bronze, or Nickel Silver. In other words, the Turbo Wood has a greater "maximum capacity" for volume output.
Adam calls this greater volume "beast (= beastly) mode."
Performing in extreme temperatures, such as at an outdoor concert in winter. You don't feel cold even in extreme cold. Or players who want a warmer tone or a louder volume.
Players with inexperienced air control. The same effect as playing softly makes the tone warmer and sweeter, but the sound is diffused, so beginners and intermediate players may find the articulation too fluffy or undefined.
More "Core."If you are looking for tone, a mouthpiece made of brass, bronze, or nickel silver is a better choice.
Here's what Adam Rappa and Ashlyn Parker have found in their long-term testing
...fit very comfortably on the lips. Ashlyn is a turbo wood.3Monly,10days.18We played two intense gigs. This was the first time that I had not developed some sort of blister on my lips after such an intense performance.
The low end is more open and richer, with an amazing vibratory quality that you can literally "feel in your bones. The material vibrates more and the vibrations are transmitted to the skull. This added physical feedback makes one's sound more audible, even in loud environments.
The color variation of the tones is even wider across the entire volume range. Subtle changes can be made to further enhance dramatic and artistic nuances.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is oil or lacquer treatment required?
No, we do not. The patented material we use is very dense, as is our brass, bronze, and nickel silver,CNClathes, just like our brass, bronze, and nickel silver. We are3have field tested the mouthpieces for over a year and have seen no signs of age-related deterioration. However, each mouthpiece is lightly polished with beeswax to give the wood a sheen. We recommend a thin coat of beeswax every six months or so. The color of the wood may change slightly, but the surface texture will not.
Will the wood crack? Is it easily scratched?
Due to the density of the material and design, the mouthpiece will not crack under normal use. However, any action that would cause damage with a brass mouthpiece will scratch it as well.
How do I care for it?
Do not use soap and water! Dry mouthpiece swabs and brushes only. Store in a dry mouthpiece pouch.
