Hello, TC Musical Instrument Repair.KoyamauchiI am Koyamauchi!

This time I wrote about the repair of a certain object.

It is not a musical instrument, however.

Here is the thing to be repaired this time!

That's right.SofaIs.

This sofa is used in the trial space of Advance Guitars.

Where is it repaired? The sofa is used in the test space at Advance Guitars.cutThe reason is this: this is a cut.

At some point, the surface of the cut was cut off.

ThereforeWe will make this cut as inconspicuous as possible.

Here are the tools we prepared for this project.

Most of them you don't see when repairing instruments.

First, we "lined" the cut and spread skin part.

We put synthetic leather tape on the inside and attached the spreading part.Next, putty cream is applied to the scratched area to fill in the bumps.

I heaped up the putty cream.

Allow to dry overnight to harden.

Next dayThe putty seems to have dried thoroughly,Let's scrape off the putty and get used to the bumps with the surface.

Use this putty and #320 sandpaper to scrape it off.
When the bumps are gone, increase the sandpaper fineness from #600 to #800 to #1200.The sanding is finished.

The difference of the material is felt by touch, but the cut is not noticeable at all.

The putty worked well, so next we will add color.

Use a color cream to match the color of the surrounding area.
Start with a lighter color and gradually darken it.

Dry for a few hours as the color adjustment is done.

Apply a topcoat because the coloring will peel off if it is left as it is.

If you paint with a brush, it will leave marks, so you need to finish painting the topcoat.

It is hard to see because of the transparency of the paint, but I finished painting.
Let it dry overnight.Next dayDry thoroughly. The next day

It is too shiny, so steel wool is used to match the surrounding atmosphere. What do you think?

It's not so much that you can't tell at all, but I think it looks relatively good! It's not so much that you can't tell at all, but I think it looks relatively good.
It is also stretchable, so there is no problem when you sit on it.

It's also elastic, so you can sit on it without any problem.

So we repaired the sofa.

I think it was well done for the first time.

We invite you to come to Advance Guitars and sit on this sofa!

This is Koyamauchi!
