The "FG-180" was released by YAMAHA in 1966.
This was the first original acoustic guitar made in Japan.
The "180" in the model name indicates the list price at the time, which was 18,000 yen.
This was the equivalent of one month's salary for an office worker at that time. (That's expensive, isn't it?).
When we talk about FG-180, words like "red label" and "bombastic sound" come to mind.
Every time I buy an FG-180, I wonder how such a big sound can be made with a plywood body.
It is not an elegant sound, but it has a junk food-like charm that makes you want to eat it several times a week.
