Hou shou with dynamic sound
Overview
Houshang Ranbushi Tube(*). Total length 47cm. It is thought to have been made from the Meiji period to the early Showa period. Comes with brocade bag, pillow, cushion, and paulownia box.
This sho has five bamboo joints on the upper side of the bamboo, but some of the joints on the lower side of the bamboo are not in the same position as the others, making it an "Ranjubusubi" (random joints) pipe.
Condition
The broken condition of the bamboo suggests that it is boiled bamboo. Adjustment has been completed under the supervision of a sho specialist. Adjustment details are as follows: >Washing and tuning. Disinfection and cleaning inside the head. Cleaning inside and outside of the bamboo tube. Fixing of the obi sash. Partial putty repair of the beehive. Correction of bamboo breakage on the ku and bamboo cracks on the gyo and otsu. Replacement of reeds in the 10th, 10th, 1st, 8th, and 8th rows. Adjustment of the folding screen. There is a lacquer repair of each bamboo. The root joints feel a little leaky.
*Women and elderly people may not have enough breath. Please be aware of this in advance.
