[Features]
The B5 model from the Custom Series, considered the origin of Silky, America's premier handmade trumpet maker. Featuring a 5-inch copper bell with unsoldered bead and a medium-large step bore, it delivers a light, responsive playing feel. Manufactured in the early 1980s, this instrument features a thinner, lighter bell than current models, highlighting the B5's signature compact feel and sharp response. Furthermore, this particular instrument boasts the popular gold-plated finish. Silky is often synonymous with gold plating, renowned for its lustrous and brilliant sound. However, due to the recent surge in gold prices, gold-plated models have become increasingly expensive, almost unattainable. This is a rare opportunity to experience the gold-plated specification, unique to that era, on the light and nimble B5. Enjoy its overwhelming performance, making a strong presence in big bands and horn sections.
