Additionally, the back label was black until mid-1982, after which it changed to white (silver). The operational amplifiers used also evolved over time, progressing from Nippon Wireless’s JRC2043DD to the JRC4558D and finally to Toshiba’s TA75558P.Compared to its predecessor, the TS808 (which used the JRC4558D), the OD-9 features revised tone control settings that extend the frequency response at both the high and low ends. In particular, the rich low-frequency response results in a punchy, clear sound with excellent clarity.
