The gold plating on the engraved pattern of the bell and the top cap of the valve casing has worn thin due to friction, slightly exposing the underlying silver plating. A small, shallow dent on the bell flare > has been repaired. Otherwise, only light scratches and polishing marks are visible here and there. It remains in excellent condition. The interior has been cleaned, the soft parts replaced, and the instrument has been serviced and adjusted throughout.

[Features]
This is an early model from the late 1980s, produced shortly after Joe Marsinkiewicz began crafting trumpet bodies.Marshinkowitz began working in brass instrument repair in 1965, studied mouthpiece design under the master craftsman Bert Herrick in 1973, and began full-scale mouthpiece production in 1983. This instrument is a rare, handmade trumpet from the era when Joe himself, having accumulated this wealth of experience, was at the forefront of its production.

The Vermeer features a classical design inspired by legendary instruments of the past and is characterized by a playing feel that is slightly tighter and more compact than the company’s Rembrandt model. Among the Vermeer lineup, the “Three” is a standard bell renowned for its excellent balance, achieving both a clear, focused tone and a warm, expansive resonance. With its medium taper and 5-inch bell, it offers outstanding projection and is suitable for a wide range of genres, from big band to wind ensembles.

This instrument is a Three ML model, featuring a .459" ML bore combined with an original #5 leadpipe. The #5 pipe is an all-around design aimed at providing a uniform and clean response across the entire range while retaining a moderate amount of resistance. It offers a bright, lustrous tone with good cohesion, and its balanced playing feel allows the sound to expand naturally as you blow.

The support connecting the bell and mouthpipe has been soldered, and there is some partial wear on the gold plating; however, considering its age, it is in good condition. The interior has been cleaned, the rubber parts replaced, and the instrument has been fully serviced and adjusted. Another unique charm of this instrument is that it dates from a time when the brand was still young and Joe’s own craftsmanship was strongly evident. While it is a highly refined and practical instrument—the “Vermeer Three”—it also offers the joy of owning an “early Marcinkiewicz.”
