Otherwise, it is in beautiful condition with no dents and no repair history. The tubing has been cleaned, the soft monel valves replaced, the pipes serviced, and the instrument adjusted.

[Features / Appeal]
After Domicchi Caricchio’s grandson Chris Caricchio left the workshop, this instrument was made during the period when the workshop had moved to Oklahoma. The making was mainly handled by John Duda, who had worked for many years as a Caricchio craftsman. The item we received is the same type as the Check-Findlay model used by Check-Findlay himself, who had loved Caricchio for 26 years. (The fact that the 3rd-valve slide receiver has a pull-knob detached type is a specification unique to this individual instrument.) It has less of the jangly, choppy feel of vintage Caricchios, but it has a very bright, open tone. The balance across the whole range is excellent, making this a very easy-to-handle Caricchio (!?).

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0608/1321/3933/files/A_DSC8548_4d439e70-555a-4605-bb8d-38503639fcc1.jpg?v=1791796595
