This is a Soviet model from the 1970s with built-in auto-wah, vibrato, and tremolo functions!
It was manufactured in the 1970s by USSR Elektronika, one of the largest music equipment brands in the Soviet Union (famous for the Elektronika EM-25 synth, FL-1 flanger, etc.). It is a unique auto-wah effect that synchronizes with the volume/frequency of the input signal.BassIt was often used with guitars, clavinets, electric organs, and synthesizers. Its distinctive choppy rhythm guitar sound was used in many funk and disco recordings from the 1970s and 1980s. I don't think there are many pedals out there that are this long and narrow. It's a surprising desktop design. The ON/OFF switch is a long, red button at the top, and it doesn't appear to be designed to be operated with your foot. The three switches below it control various types of "vibrato/tremolo." The bottom two knobs control the intensity and speed. The sound is very unique, with a hint of auto-wah and a "vibrato/tremolo" feel. While it's full of "what-is-this" vibe, the psychedelic, spacey sound is very interesting and enjoyable, and I think it has a very romantic feel. The sticker on the back reads "APR-78," suggesting it was likely made in 1978. The brand "Volna" is a famous Soviet watch brand, so I wonder if there's a connection. There are also ones with red cases, but this one is turquoise.
